These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and CampusLife ("CampusLife," "we," "us") — an app operated by an independent developer (not an incorporated entity) — governing your use of the CampusLife mobile app (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older. By using it, you represent that you are at least 18. The Service is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect data from, anyone under 18 (and specifically under 13). We may suspend or delete any account we believe belongs to an underage user.
CampusLife is a personal wellbeing self-tracking tool — not a health, medical, or healthcare application, and not a medical device. A student records a short daily check-in (a mood rating, a ranking of four life areas, and optional notes). A student may link with a parent using an invite code; once linked, the student's check-ins and trends are visible to that parent. The link is consensual and can be ended.
CampusLife is a personal wellbeing and self-tracking tool, provided for general informational and self-reflection purposes only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological, or psychiatric advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not a substitute for professional care, and no clinician, counselor, or other professional reviews, monitors, or responds to the information you log — there is no guaranteed response to any entry. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something recorded in this app.
CampusLife is not a crisis line or emergency service. If you or someone you know may be in danger or experiencing a mental-health crisis, in the United States call or text 988 (988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line), or call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Outside the U.S., call your local emergency number or find a helpline at findahelpline.com.
You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. When a student joins a family with a parent's invite code, the student consents to sharing their check-ins with that parent. You may unlink/leave, and a parent may remove a member. Keep your invite code private.
You agree not to: use the Service to monitor or collect data about anyone who has not consented (it is only for your own data and the family you knowingly link with); attempt to access another user's or family's data; reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or interfere with the Service; or use it for any unlawful purpose. CampusLife must never be used as covert or non-consensual surveillance.
You own the content you create (e.g., your notes and entries). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you and your linked family. You are responsible for the content you submit and must not submit unlawful content.
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us and our licensors and is provided to you under a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for personal use.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or availability. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will always be preserved.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CampusLife and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Because the Service is informational and not a medical or crisis service, you agree not to rely on it for any medical, safety, or emergency decision. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (if any) or US $50, except where such limits are not permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CampusLife and its operators from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete account). We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or as required by law. Deletion is described in the Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms; we will post the updated version here and update the date, and surface material changes in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the U.S. state in which CampusLife's operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located there. [You may pin a specific governing state/venue, and optionally add an arbitration and class-action-waiver clause, after legal review.]
